LEMONADE WITH PISTACHIO BECAME THE REGISTERED FLAVOUR OF ALANYA
Lemonade with pistachio, a beloved beverage in the city of Alanya, has recently been recognized as a registered flavour thanks to the efforts of the Alanya Municipality. Known as a favourite drink in both the summer and winter months, ‘Lemonade with Pistachio’ was officially registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on May 24th, 2023. The drink was granted protection under the Mahreç Sign as of April 17th, 2024, by Article 41 of the Industrial Property Law No. 6769.
SPECIAL FLAVOUR FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
As many people know, “Lemonade with Pistachio” is a traditional drink that is often served during circumcision, engagement, and promise ceremonies, as well as guest entertaining in Alanya. This unique beverage recipe has been protected by the Alanya Municipality as part of their efforts to safeguard abstract cultural memory and culinary culture. Businesses that wish to certify that they sell pistachio lemonade according to the registered recipe should apply to the Alanya Municipality for approval.

- 400 g lemon peel and juice (4 medium-sized lemons)
- 220 g orange (1 medium size)
- 145 g white granulated sugar (1 water glass)
- 2 litres of water
- 120 g roasted, peeled and unsalted peanuts.
