The International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium, which will be held for the 17th time this year by Alanya Municipality, started on the 1st of November.
10 sculptors from 6 different countries participate in the sculpture symposium. The International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium, which is traditionally organized by Alanya Municipality, has been suspended for 2 years due to the pandemic experienced all over the world, and will take place for the 17th time this year between 1-30 November 2022, is starting. While 99 sculptors from 37 countries applied to this year’s symposium, At the jury meeting held under the chairmanship of Prof.Bülent Çınar, the artists who will participate in the symposium were determined as 10 permanent and 3 substitutes.
WORKS WILL BE INSTALLED IN GREEN AREAS AND PARKS
The works carved in the workshop to be created behind the municipality will be presented to the exhibition on November 30 in the area to be prepared behind the Alanya Municipality. All sculptures made at the end of the symposium will be mounted in green areas and parks to decorate these areas. People will be able to easily photograph and examine the works of famous sculptors.

Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel said in a statement; “The sculptures made within the scope of the International sculpture symposium we have organized so far have transformed our Alanya into an open-air exhibition. It has gained an important place by bringing our people together with this branch of art. We will be happy to see our people in our symposium area during November this year as well.” said.

At the jury meeting, Prof. Bulent Cinar, Prof. Fatma Akyürek, Lecturer Hakan Ersiz, Alanya Municipality Councilor M. Architect Melike Nazifoğlu, Alanya Municipality Parks and Gardens Manager Nazmi Uyar meticulously determined the sculptors who will participate in the 17th International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium: Turkey: Aslışah Erdem, Çağdaş Erçelik, Ecem Yerman, Murat Özver, Yıldız Güner, Sylvain Patte (Belgium), Robert Bucek (Czech), Jerome Symons (Netherlands), Anna Teresa Rasinska (Poland), Michael Levchenko (Ukraine).
